The 1.6 GTi arrived in 1984, with a fuel injected belt driven overhead
1986 saw the CTi and 1.9 GTi arrive. In 1987
the TU belt driven overhead cam engines were fitted to all models except the
GTi and diesels. Diesel and Turbodiesel models are also available.
All models have independent front suspension
and rear semi-independent trailing arm suspension with torsion bars.
